How am I kept informed of my son/daughter’s progress?

Parents receive two progress reviews over the course of the academic year, highlighting the student’s performance measured against target grades. They also get the opportunity to meet the subject teachers at our Parent’s Evening which is early in the Spring Term. Our team of tutors are available every day to respond to individual parental queries. Parents are actively encouraged to contact us if they have any concerns.

Does my son/daughter have to stay on site all day

Students will have free periods on their timetable but we would like student to stay on site P1 – P4 but can leave the college site after that time if they have no timetabled lessons. We do, however, have a silent Study Room for students to work in should they wish to.

When should I apply to join Angmering Sixth Form?

We host our Sixth Form Open Evening in September and we are open to receive applications from that point. Interviews usually commence in mid October on a first come, first served basis.

What should I expect from the interview?

We interview all prospective candidates to provide information on the Sixth Form and the courses we offer. We can also offer advice and guidance on careers questions at this point.

What happens if a teacher is away?

If a teacher knows in advance they will be unable to attend a lesson work is given at the previous lesson. If the absence is unplanned work is emailed to the faculty office and a member of staff gives the work to the students.

Is there any funding available for students going into Sixth Form?

The 16-19 Bursary Scheme is available and students in care, leaving care in receipt of Income Support or Universal Credits, disabled and in receipt of Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments will be awarded a guaranteed Bursary.
