The Bursary Fund is for students aged between 16 and 19 years who struggle with the costs for education or training. At The Angmering School, we are responsible for awarding bursaries to our students. With the exception of the £1,200 bursaries for students most in need, we will decide on the amount given, when discretionary bursaries are paid, how the money is distributed, and we will set conditions that students should meet to receive a bursary, for example, linked to behaviour or attendance.
The 16-19 Bursary Scheme available to:
- Students in care, leaving care in receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit, disabled and in receipt of Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments will be awarded a guaranteed Bursary.
- Students with a household income of under £16,191 may receive help towards equipment/materials costs and other related costs.
- Students from a household income below £21,000 may also receive help towards equipment/materials and or travel costs.
- For students with exceptional circumstance applications will be assessed on a case by case basis.
For full details packs are available in the Sixth Form Office or
Students in the Sixth Form are not included in the Pupil Premium calculation – there is a separate 16-19 Bursary Fund to provide financial support to Sixth Form students whose families are on low incomes.
