What do Arundel Castle Cricket Foundation, Audi, BrightMinded Web Design, Hawke & Metcalfe Estate Agents, Kamsons Pharmacy, Littlehampton Library, Arun District Council, Lizard Landscape Design & Ecology, Lucrafts Accountants, the Police and St Richard’s Hospital have in common?  They are just some of the providers of placements for our Year 12s who are out on work experience this week.  As part of our Destinations Programme, students have been researching potential post-Sixth Form pathways, and a work placement gives them an excellent opportunity for some hands-on experience in their chosen field whether it is engineering, media, sales, sport, medicine or public service, or a variety of other areas.  As well as the specialist skills acquired, students will also be learning how to work as part of a team, to communicate effectively, and also the importance of punctuality and commitment! Reflecting on the experience will also form a key feature of their CVs, or personal statements as part of a university application.  Many of our past students have been offered permanent positions with their work experience employers, which they have taken up either immediately on a part-time basis, or full-time at a later date following higher education.
